We held “the short-term summer classes for children with international backgrounds” （2016.07.26-30） We held “the short-term summer classes for children with international backgrounds” from July 26th (Tue) through 30th (Sat) in Clark Memorial Hall, Hokkaido University. Fifteen children (total number for 5 days: 60) from 3 elementary and 4 junior high schools attended the classes. Nine volunteers (total number for 5 days: 39) helped them studying with their homework and review for their classes. They also had some fun for a change. Sixty percent of them have continued to participate since last year. We were pleased to hear that new comers also said, “I want to join the winter classes.” […]
Summer Festival was held at the Plaza (2016.07.16)
About 100 people including foreign nationals, Japanese and kids joined the Summer Festival at the Plaza. Some of them put on yukata. All participants enjoyed the bon dance, the tosenkyo game, festival stalls, and origami. Volunteers took the participants to the Odori Park and the Clock Tower for taking pictures. We held “The 22nd SKY Open Seminar” (2016.07.09)
date: 2016.07.09(Sat) We held the 22st SKY Open Seminar at Communication Salon of Sapporo International Communication Plaza. In the first half, five international students from five countries (China, Poland, Korea, Estonia, and Uzbekistan) gave the presentations in Japanese about elements of social background and culture through the theme “Pocket Money in My Country.” In the second half, international students and Sapporo citizens enjoyed talking close to each other in small groups.
