[Report] Japanese Culture Experience Program for International Students - Aikido Class – (2024. 7. 7)
Sapporo International Student Center provided “Japanese Culture Experience Program for international students” on July 7th. Multicultural Connection Unit “SKY” cooperated with this event and 12 of international students and their family members from 5 countries joined it. “Let’s go to Kosodate Salon” by SKY Group
“Sky” is a Multicultural Connection Unit, one of the groups in the Sapporo International Communication Plaza Foreign Language Volunteer Network. For foreign families with babies/toddlers, we provide a volunteer activity “Let’s go to Kosodate Salon”. In Sapporo, there are about 300 Kosodate salons where parents & babies/toddlers (0-6 yrs) can come and play for free. At those salons, you can enjoy talking with other parents and/or consult with child-caring professionals. If you are interested, please do not hesitate to contact us. Hokkaido University Campus Tour Guides 2024 (2024.4.27~11.4)
The Hokkaido University Campus Tour Guide 2024 will take place from 27 April (Sat.) to 4 Nov. (Sun.) for free. The main dates are in the morning on weekends (Sat/Sun) and national holidays in Japan. Please come to the university information map board near the main gate of Hokkaido University by 9:55 am. (Address: Kita 8-jo Nishi 5-chome). The tour is scheduled to take 90 minutes from the meeting point to the final stop, Ginkgo Avenue (North 13-jo Street). (A guided tour can be arranged at your convenience). We held Doll Festival at Sapporo International Communication Plaza on February 25th. On Saturday, February 3rd, 23 people, including children, from nine countries and regions participated in the “Takino Suzuran Hillside Park Snowshoe Tour”. [Report] Japanese Culture Experience Program for International Students - Japanese Music Instruments and Nankin Tamasudare -(2023. 12. 17)
Sapporo International Student Center provided “Japanese Culture Experience Program for international students” on Dec. 17th. Multicultural Connection Unit “SKY” cooperated with this event and 17 of international students and their family members from 9 countries joined it. After they enjoyed the performance of Biwa (Japanese lute) and Nankin Tamasudare, they tried Biwa, Nankin Tamasudare, Japanese drum, and Tosenkyo. [Report] Origami Workshop 2023.
The event was held on Sunday, November 12, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Sapporo International Plaza. A total of 19 participants and 6 volunteers joined the program. The participating countries were the United States (1), Indonesia (4), China (2), Myanmar(2), Benin (1), Japan (8), and more than 7 countries. Eight pieces of folded origami were inserted one after another and connected to form a star-like ornament at the end. The combination of the colors of the origami provides a sense of design and seasonal expression.
