Saturday Salon Special Event “Japanese Cultures” was held (2017.2.4)
We held the Saturday Salon Special Event “Japanese Cultures” on February 4th at the Sapporo International Communication Plaza. 20 people from 8 countries and regions including Japan joined. You can see more details and pictures on the blog of the Sightseeing and Japanese Culture Unit.
“Joy to the Snow World!” was carried out (2017.1.14)
We held “Joy to the Snow World!” on Jan.14th at Sapporo Sculpture Garden. 18 participants from 10 countries and regions joined. Salon event “Ozashiki Games!”was held at the Plaza (2016.11.12)
12 people including foreign nationals, Japanese and kids joined and enjoyed 3 ozashiki games. Losers got a penalty of drinking senburi (a herbal drug which is really bitter). You can see more details and pictures on the blog of the Sightseeing and Japanese Culture Unit.
We held “the short-term summer classes for children with international backgrounds”
We held “the short-term summer classes for children with international backgrounds” (2016.07.26-30) We held “the short-term summer classes for children with international backgrounds” from July 26th (Tue) through 30th (Sat) in Clark Memorial Hall, Hokkaido University. Fifteen children (total number for 5 days: 60) from 3 elementary and 4 junior high schools attended the classes. Nine volunteers (total number for 5 days: 39) helped them studying with their homework and review for their classes. They also had some fun for a change. Sixty percent of them have continued to participate since last year. We were pleased to hear that new comers also said, “I want to join the winter classes.” […]
Summer Festival was held at the Plaza (2016.07.16)
About 100 people including foreign nationals, Japanese and kids joined the Summer Festival at the Plaza. Some of them put on yukata. All participants enjoyed the bon dance, the tosenkyo game, festival stalls, and origami. Volunteers took the participants to the Odori Park and the Clock Tower for taking pictures.
